Plot Description (From IMDB): The costumed high-school hero Kick-Ass joins with a group of normal citizens who have been inspired to fight crime in costume. Meanwhile, the Red Mist plots an act of revenge that will affect everyone Kick-Ass knows.
I really enjoyed the original Kick-Ass. It was a really big surprise, thanks in large part to a pretty poor marketing campaign. On the surface, it looked like a movie geared towards kids and looked very comic booky, but that was not the case. R-rated superhero movies are hardly a thing, and personally, I wish they were. Besides mainstream efforts like the criminally underrated Watchmen and the aforementioned Kick-Ass, only Super starring Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page really comes to mind. Just once, I’d like to here Batman drop an f-bomb.
As for Kick-Ass 2, I’m really looking forward to it, but I have a bit of trepidation. For one, Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy was a big part of why I liked the first one so much. I really appreciated his Adam West-style of superhero and without him, I’m a little worried. But of course, Chloe Moretz reprises her role as Hit Girl, which is a bad ass character through and through. The trailer seems to promise a whole lot of Hit Girl, so that eases my mind a bit. As long as it’s ultra-violent, it should deliver on some expectations, at least.
What’s your anticipation level for Kick-Ass 2?
UPDATE: Looks like the video was taken down, but you can go over to the MTV Site to watch it. Sorry, looks like if you want to watch it, you’ll have to give a click to the company that impregnates teens and then films them… That’s what that show is about, right?
UPDATE #2: Found another link, but don’t count on it staying up much longer. Follow the MTV link above once it goes down.
For your trouble, here’s a pic of non-jail bait hottie of Kick-Ass 2, Lyndsey Fonseca.
