PLOT: Documentary on current trends of haunted house attractions.
First of all: Fuck McKamey Manor. Well, let me back up. McKamey Manor is not for me, and I don’t get why anyone would subject themselves to it. Likewise, I wasn’t big on the whole torture porn trend in horror in the mid-2000s, but I guess there was a market for both. I enjoy being scared and all, but I think there’s a difference between being abused and being frightened. Additionally, I’m not sure I’m comfortable with people being paid to do that sort of thing to me.
It’s interesting how obsessive these guys that makes these places actually get and sort of how that says a lot about their own mental health. Some of these guys are bordering on divorce because of their obsession to this stuff and it’s kind of sad to me. Like, dude: calm the fuck down about this shit.
I haven’t been to a haunted house in a long time, but they showed some cool ones. They had a small bit about an interactive haunted house where it was almost like a play where you went room to room. That’s what I found interesting. I’d totally do that. That looks like fun. And I think that’s where McKamey Manor differs; all the other ones seem to be in the interest of fun for the patrons while McKamey Manor seems to serve the wishes of the actors.
Also, McKamey looks so much like Rex Ryan it’s distracting.
